Manchester United fans name the one player they’re confident can stop Mohamed Salah in Saturday’s derby

Stopping one of the game’s best strikers is a tall order, but Man United fans think they know who is up to the task.

Manchester United play host to Liverpoolon Saturday in what is widely considered to be the biggest game of the domestic season.

For the majority of the Premier Leagueyears Manchester United have gone into the fixture as the favourites, especially when playing at Old Trafford.

But despite being above Liverpool in the table, will have to be at their very best to get a result against Jurgen Klopp’s all-destroying Reds.

Liverpool’s current form is the joint best in the league, along with Tottenham and Manchester City’s, and they’ve netted a staggering 67 times this season – 11 more than United.

They’re not as defensively sound as the Red Devils however, who have conceded 10 fewer goals than their bitter rivals over the course of the season.

That said, everyone associated with Manchester United is aware of the attacking threat at Liverpool’s disposal: Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and the crown jewel, Mohamed Salah.

Jose Mourinho’s side will have to be at their very best to keep this trio at bay, and it seems United fans aren’t convinced one player is up to the test.

Ashley Young has done a great job at filling in at left-back this season, as Mourinho has continually overlooked Luke Shaw in this position.

The traditional left-winger has performed his somewhat unnatural defensive duties well, and has combined this with his ability to burst forward and attack.

But he has lost a half of yard of pace, mostly down to the fact he is now 32 years old, and fans fear he doesn’t have the athleticism to keep up with Salah when he attacks down the right.

So who is the man to save United from this threat? Well, it seems Red Devils supporters are convinced it’s the significantly more powerful Shaw, and many are calling for Mourinho to play the Englishman this weekend.

I prefer LUKE SHAW . He has the defensive ability to hold Salah with his speed . Well It’s up to Mourinho…⚽⚽
